Women in Economics was founded in January of 2016 by five Texas A&M students. They wanted to create an environment for women interested in economics to gather, network, and learn what a degree in economics can do for them.

In a department that is predominately males, Women in Economics strives to encourage women to be the best they can be through our core values of:

  • Professional Development

  • Careers and Departmental Opportunities

  • Building Community

  • Service

  • Mentorship

We offer two meetings a month during the school year. These meetings include guest speakers ranging from economic professors to industry professionals. Throughout the year, there are additional events such as socials for our members!

Fall 2020
This semester we will not require dues from our members since we will not be able to host in-person socials or give food during our meetings (we are going completely virtual). We will however be selling WIE shirts and sweatshirts at the beginning of the semester, so definitely look out for that if you are interested. All of our meetings and informationals will be held through Zoom. For more information about our online meetings check the Zoom Information tab.
