Women in Economics was founded in January of 2016 by five Texas A&M students. They wanted to create an environment for women interested in economics to gather, network, and learn what a degree in economics can do for them.

In a department that is predominately males, Women in Economics strives to encourage women to be the best they can be through our core values of:

  • Professional Development

  • Careers and Departmental Opportunities

  • Building Community

  • Mentorship

  • Service

We offer two meetings a month during the school year. These meetings include guest speakers ranging from economic professors to industry professionals. Throughout the year, there are additional events such as business functions, socials, and philanthropy opportunities for our members!
