Our Story
Women in Economics was founded in January of 2016 by five Texas A&M students. They wanted to create an environment for women interested in economics to gather, network, and learn what a degree in economics can do for them.
Our Mission Statement
Women in Economics seeks to provide women in the Economics department at Texas A&M University with a community through which they can expand their knowledge of economics, explore areas of interest, and broaden interpersonal skills for the purpose of professional development.
Each Meeting
You are provided with an opportunity to connect with fellow Women In Economics (WIE) members while enjoying delicious food. We host professional speakers from renowned companies such as American Airlines, PwC, and many others who deliver insightful presentations. After the presentation, there is a dedicated one-on-one time with the speaker, allowing for personal interaction and valuable networking with major hiring companies.
