Mentor Mentee

This 24-25 school year, our Mentor-Mentee Program will continue, offering members exclusive opportunities for professional, personal, and social growth within Women in Economics.

Program Overview

The Women in Economics Mentor-Mentee Program empowers economics students at TAMU through professional development, networking opportunities, and a supportive community. Mentees benefit from personalized guidance, career advancement resources, and inspiring role models. Mentors and mentees engage in mutual learning, fostering a diverse and inclusive field of economics.

Personalized Mentorship

Mentees are paired with a mentor who offers guidance on academic pursuits, career development, and personal growth. Mentors provide valuable insights, support, and encouragement, helping mentees navigate their academic and professional journeys.

Networking Opportunities

The program offers numerous networking events, allowing mentees to connect with established economists, industry professionals, and peers. These events include the guest speaker serious, informal meet-and-greet sessions, and other WIE events.

Professional Development

Through socials, career fairs, professional development meetings, business events, and more mentors and mentees receive guidance and be well-prepared for their professional journeys.

Social Events

Regular themed social events create a supportive and inclusive community where mentees can build lasting relationships with mentors and fellow participants.

Ideally, we'd love for upperclassman and returning members to apply as mentors!

Guiding Mentees to have a successful academic year

We highly encourage Incoming Freshman and & New Members to apply as a Mentee!

Reaching out to Mentors for help in regards to WIE or anything else,​

Helping Mentees prepare their resumes, interview etiquette and steps to take both during and after the interview/internship process​

Attending WIE meetings, events, and other socials with their Mentor

Being a support system for the Mentee

Meeting other Aggies and sharing experiences together.

Point Requirements

Yes, we have M&M point requirements but don't worry they aren't difficult to meet! 

2 Points required 

​

- 1 point from any Mentor-Mentee event (excluding the reveal)

- 1 point from outside of WIE M&M events, example: coffee shops, lunch or dinner together, attend career fairs together, any comfortable setting to have an in-depth one-on-one conversation
